  • Competition Cheer Team

Information Meeting: April 15, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, at the Delano High School in the Auditorium. Competition Cheer is a competitive twist on the classic sport of cheerleading. Athletes will learn a combination of skills and work together to build a two-and-a-half-minute routine. Participants will put in the work to perfect the routine and develop skills during practice. They will perform their routine at a variety of local competitions in Minnesota. No experience is required. Uniforms and props will be provided. Athletes will need to buy a team warm up, shoes, spandex, socks and a bow. Participants will be taught all stunt, jump, cheer, and dance skills needed to become successful competitive cheerleaders. Practices will be two days a week during the season. We expect to compete in five to six-weekend competitions November through January. The Competition Cheer Team is open to boys and girls in grades 7-12. Athletes do not need to attend Delano Schools but must be willing to commute to practice and represent Delano at competitions.
