7th and 8th-Grade GolfGolfPopular7th & 8th-Grade Golf 7th & 8th-Grade Golf will start on March 31st. For all 7th and 8th graders interested in golf, there will be short meeting in Coach Schramel’s Room (room 202) on February 13th during WIN. (12:13pm) On Thursday, March 27th during WIN (12:13) all golfers will meet in Mr Schramel’s classroom (Room 202). Practice Times: Monday-Friday | 3:30-5:00 pm. (Subject to change) Golfers should bring all of their clubs to practice on Monday, March 31. Monday, March 31 will be after school in the wrestling room from 3-4:15pm. The rest of week 1, 4/1-4/4, will be before school in the wrestling room starting at 7:15am. A more detailed practice schedule will be posted once practices start. Advanced/Masters GymnasticsGymnasticsPopularAdvanced: Gymnasts will learn handsprings, squat-ons, flatbacks, and gain confidence on high beams. Advanced classes are two-hour classes. Gymnasts at this level are recommended to register for 2 - 3 classes per week. Masters: We will advance your gymnastics skills even further. Masters participants will be taught tumbling, kips, and handsprings. Masters classes are two-hour classes. Gymnasts at this level are recommended to register for 2-3 classes per week. Bus information - Please use this information. Bus Transportation for Spring Session #1 and Spring Session #2Your child can ride their regular bus from the Elementary or Intermediate Schools to the High School for Spring Sessions #1 and #2 (3:15 pm classes only). Your child will need to provide the driver a note each day they attend gymnastics to get off their bus at the High School. The note is for your child’s safety and to ensure they go to gymnastics. (Notes for the drivers will be emailed to registered participants with a valid email address on file with Community Education the Friday before classes start).Community Education will have gymnastics staff by door #11 to meet the students and bring them into the gym. More detailed information about this process will be sent out to registered participants one week before the start of the session. Cartwheels, pullovers, board approaches, and beam basics will be taught. The Beginners class is one hour long. Dance Team PrepDanceStarting Soon> girls, grades 5 & 6 Dance Team Prep is a great opportunity that gives young athletes the chance to prepare to be a member of the Delano Tiger Dance Team. During this program, athletes will work with the winter competitive season coaches and dancer assistants! Through this experience, participants will have a better understanding of what the dance team has to offer. Participants can expect to refine existing skills while also learning new skills. WaitlistFall Dance TeamDanceFall Dance Team > Delano Dance Team members entering grades 7 - 12 Join the Fall Performance Dance Team! This non-competitive team is what fans look forward to at football games, school pep fests, homecoming, and an off-sight Fall Showcase. Dancers will learn a pom routine to entertain the crowd. The fall program’s goal is to prepare the dancers for the Winter Competitive Dance Team season, focusing on expanding dance skills while having fun with friends. Coaches will hand out the required performance apparel and dates at the first practice. Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays ( No Practice Sept. 2) August 26 - October 3 | 3:15 - 5:30 p.m. October 7-10 | 5:30 - 7:45 p.m. The Fall Dance Team program will be using the waiting list registration feature of the registration system. If you are interested in participating in the Fall Dance Team, please register for the waiting list (register as you normally would, and you will be placed on the waiting list for the program). If you are confirmed as a member of the Delano Tigers Dance Team your registration will be processed, and you will be moved into the program. You will learn the lifelong game of tennis, develop better skills, have a good time, and get a chance to compete with some area players your age. 7th Graders Sign up on Delano Community Ed for Middle School Tennis If you believe you are interested in varsity level or would like to possibly become JV, you should attend Varsity/JV practice, which starts on March 24. (Middle School Season is April 7 start) If you make varsity or are needed on the JV team, the school will transfer your registration over to high school registration. 8th Graders: Sign up on Delano Community Ed for Middle School Tennis It is recommended that all 8th graders attend practice on March 24 with JV/Varsity. Summer Football Team ActivitiesFootballPopularDelano Football Players Entering Grades 9-12 (Fall of 2025) These activities include both our team strength and conditioning sessions and team practices to prepare for the 2025 regular season. The strength & conditioning sessions will include time in the weight room plus outdoor training. The summer football practices will focus on the fundamentals and skills for playing tackle football for players entering grades 9-12. Some of the practices will be "padded" (helmets and shoulder pads and or full pads). The Delano High School Football Coaches will lead these practices and install the offense, defense, and special teams for the upcoming season. PopularTennis ClinicTennis> Grades 1 - 6 This camp will focus on proper grips, footwork, rallying, and tennis’ basic strokes, including the forehand, backhand, volley, and serves. We will also be learning and playing many tennis games throughout this process. Participants will need to bring a tennis racquet. The clinic will be held outside, so please dress appropriately, and bring sunscreen and a water bottle. Space is limited, so register early. Program Note: participants will be grouped by ability after the first session.
