Competition Cheer Team

Youth Recreation / Cheer -
2024 Winter-Spring

Information Meeting: April 15, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, at the Delano High School in the Auditorium.

Competition Cheer is a competitive twist on the classic sport of cheerleading. Athletes will learn a combination of skills and work together to build a two-and-a-half-minute routine. Participants will put in the work to perfect the routine and develop skills during practice. They will perform their routine at a variety of local competitions in Minnesota. No experience is required. Uniforms and props will be provided. Athletes will need to buy a team warm up, shoes, spandex, socks and a bow. Participants will be taught all stunt, jump, cheer, and dance skills needed to become successful competitive cheerleaders.

Practices will be two days a week during the season. We expect to compete in five to six-weekend competitions November through January.

The Competition Cheer Team is open to boys and girls in grades 7-12. Athletes do not need to attend Delano Schools but must be willing to commute to practice and represent Delano at competitions.

All participants will need to pay an additional camp fee, up to $150. The final additional camp fee will be determined after registration closes. Mandatory Camp Dates: August 25th, September 21st, and September 22nd.
