Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football

Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football program aims to teach students in grades 1 - 4 about the game of football in a fun and encouraging environment to develop their interest in the sport. The Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football program seeks parent volunteers to coach their child’s team. Parent volunteers are needed for a successful program. We are asking parents to consider volunteering, no matter their background in the sport of football. Without enough volunteers, participation in the program may be limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Please contact Chris Runke at Community Education (612-224-5958 call/text, or chris.runke@delanoschools.org) if you are interested in helping or indicate this on your child’s registration form. A coach’s meeting for all coaches will be held the week before the season starts.

The coordinator will email coaches the meeting date, time, and location in August.

Program Prerequisites: Participants should be able to run, jump, make lateral movements, throw and catch a football, follow 2-3 step directions, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, and work as a team with their peers.
