  • Delano Tigers Tuesday Night Varsity Volleyball League

    > girls entering grades 11 - 12 (fall of 2024) or girls who played JV or higher in the fall of 2023 Delano hosts a Tuesday night league that competes against various surrounding towns. The Tuesday Night Volleyball League is a great way to prepare for the upcoming season! **Players must register for and actively participate in the Grades 10 - 12 Volleyball Skills program to participate in this league. **Participants must attend Delano Public Schools to participate on the Delano team for League play. Head Varsity Coach Becca Rue and Staff Program Prerequisites: Participants must be able to run, follow a series of directions, demonstrate hand-eye coordination to hit a ball, jump, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, and work as a team with their peers.
  • Diving 1 & 2

    Diving 1- Intro to Diving NOTE: Students must have passed Level 3 swimming lessons. Basic springboard diving skills are introduced, including front takeoffs, back take-offs, basic head first entries. Skills from the side - twisting, and flipping. Diving safety skills are discussed. Diving 2 - Intermediate Diving NOTE: Students must have passed Level 3 swimming NOTE: Students must complete Diving 1 before Diving 2 Expanding on diving skills learned in Diving 1, participants will be taught the different groups of dives while making progress towards adding new dives to the repertoire.   • Diving 5 - Diving Club

    This offering is for participants who already have competitive diving experience, or are going into their first year of competitive diving and have attended 1 session of High School Prep. Diving 5 will help divers refine their current skills, and learn new skills, and dives. 6 and 11 dive list set up, tips, and some best practices. The spotting belt may be used if time and space allow. This group may also utilize the video replay system, so divers can watch their dives after they have completed them. Registration options for each session include: Mondays/Wednesdays: $79 Tuesdays/Thursdays : $79
  • Drivers Education: 30-hour Classroom Instruction

    Thirty hours of classroom instruction are required before a student is eligible for behind-the-wheel instruction. Students should be 14 years old in order to take classroom instruction. After completion of the classroom instruction, students may register with Westonka Driving School or another school of their choice for behind the wheel instruction. There is an additional cost for behind the wheel. When students register for behind the wheel, they will receive a blue card, which will enable them to go and take the written permit test at state exam stations.   • Extreme Robotics: Bionic Beasts

    > entering grades 2 - 6 Students will program robots to move, act, and think on their own. Discover the excitement of programming your creation to follow a command and watch it go. Our classes are fun, educational, and hands-on, teaching students the foundations of building and programming concepts. Students working in teams will then be challenged to morph their projects into better, stronger, or faster robots. Please bring lunch and a drink.     FREE! Coffee Connection It’s time to relax, talk, and enjoy a cup of coffee with other parents! The goal of these classes is to improve parent-child relationships by working toward acceptance and encouragement. Activities will include parent education, games, hands-on activities, parent discussion, and parenting sharing. A licensed educator leads the parent discussion, while trained childcare personnel lead the children in learning/play activities. Sponsored by Delano ECFE/School Readiness, Wright County Human Services, and a Delano-Loretto United Way grant. Pre-registration for childcare is required. Childcare is Free for participants attending the class, but space is limited.

  • Fall Dance Team

    Fall Dance Team > entering grades 7 - 12 Join the Fall Performance Dance Team! This non-competitive team is what fans look forward to at football games, school pep fests, homecoming, and an off-sight Fall Showcase. Dancers will learn a pom routine to entertain the crowd. The fall program’s goal is to prepare the dancers for the Winter Competitive Dance Team season, focusing on expanding dance skills while having fun with friends. Coaches will hand out the required performance apparel and dates at the first practice. This clinic is an exciting way for our younger generation to connect with the dance team and the community. The Fall Kids Dance Clinic has quickly become a favorite for the dance team and the younger dancers. You will get to showcase your fun routine and your spunky dance moves on the football field. It’s a lively, fun environment, so be sure to register early to secure your spot! This clinic will split girls into grades K-3 and 4-6 groups. **Participants must be registered one week before the clinic’s start to be guaranteed a t-shirt.   • Family Play Time! (Non-separating)

    For ages 1–5 years This class is for busy families wanting to connect with their children through play and fun. Parents and children will enjoy learning activities, crafts, sensory play, and teacher-led circle time with music and games. We will end our time in the gym or large motor room for big-body play. Come to play, learn, and connect with other families. Sign up for one, several, or all six weeks. Note: There may be weeks where you will meet at a park instead of the classroom, weather permitting. REGISTRATION NOTE: Must register online to attend. Please register all members of your family that will be attending. The deadline to register is Thursday the week before the class.     > entering grades 3 - 4 This 4-day camp will be a great way to prepare for the upcoming Junior Delano Tigers 3rd & 4th Grade Flag Football program in September. During the first half-hour each day, we will work on flag football skills through various drills and fun games. For the last hour of each day, the coaches will split the group into teams, and we will play a game using the same format taught in the fall program. Each group of students is led by a Gale Woods Farm Educator and chaperoned by a Community Education staff member. Please bring a bag lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray each day. **Community Education is looking for three chaperones to supervise our groups at Gale Woods during this camp. The chaperones will be paid for their time during the camp. We need one adult and two high school students (10th-grade or older).     If you’ve noticed hip/thigh/butt spread, you are not alone. We have become a nation of professional sitters, causing lower body muscles to weaken and sag. In this workshop, you will learn: my famous ‘10 Minute Miracle Exercise’ series to strengthen lower body muscles quickly and, in the process, increase metabolism and bone density; decrease 2 inches off saddlebag area in 2 weeks; trim inches off lower body by getting rid of excess water weight; breathing technique to stimulate fat metabolism; acupressure points for lymph circulation and drainage. If you don’t have time, money, or inclination to haul yourself to a gym, you will love these powerful and effective techniques.
