  • High School Open Court

    Players entering grades 9-12 (grades 7-8 players by invitation only) The High School Open Court program is for high school players looking for competitive match play, game-based drills, individual instruction, and classic tennis games. Jacob Olson and Tim Arnold Program Prerequisites: Participants must be able to follow a series of directions, demonstrate hand-eye coordination to hold and throw a tennis ball, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, run, shuffle side-to-side, and hold and swing a tennis racket.
  • Intermediate Gymnastics

    Gymnasts will expand on the basics and move on to more difficult skills. Walkovers, glides, pop-ups, turns, and cartwheels on the beam will be taught. The Intermediate class is two hours long. It is recommended that gymnasts at this level register for 1-2 classes per week.
  • Intro to Tiger Strength

    > Athletes entering grades 7-8 Intro to Tiger Strength is a class for any student interested in getting stronger and more athletic. Intro to Tiger Strength will introduce the methods and lifts you would expect to see in a gym class or a team sport. The Intro to Tiger Strength program focuses on improving strength, endurance, and flexibility under the guidance of skilled coaches, all while doing so safely and efficiently. Intro to Tiger Strength participants will be confident lifting in any gym by the end of the program. By establishing good workout habits, participants will continue to live healthy lifestyles. Intro to Tiger Strength Registration will open on May 13 Tiger Strength Coaching Staff Program Prerequisites: Participants must have the ability to lift 25 pounds, run, jump, and independently carry out exercises with verbal instruction.
  • Junior Tiger Tennis

    Junior Tiger Tennis Camp > entering grades 1 - 7 If you have ever wanted to experience the excellent, lifelong game of tennis, now is your chance! This six-week program will take players through the many fundamentals of tennis, exposing participants to a wide variety of drills, games, and competitions. You will most definitely have fun! Jake Olson & staff * After beginning camp, some players may be asked to move based on numbers/ability. * Players entering grades 3 & 5 should decide based on ability, experience, and schedule. * Girls Entering 7th Grade: It is recommended that 7th-grade girls who plan to play Junior High Tennis in the Fall register for the “Girl’s Tennis Fall Season Warm-Up” program. Improve your volleyball skills with individual training combined with team concepts to get you in shape for the future. The Summer Skills clinic is designed to focus on all aspects of the game, emphasizing fundamentals. Instruction will be given on individual serving, ball handling, hitting, setting, blocking, and defensive techniques. There will be a variety of fun games and contests as well. You will leave the training with an energized enthusiasm for volleyball and improved self-confidence, both keys to your growth as a player.   • Peak Performance for High School Female Athletes

    Peak Performance >High School Female Athletes entering grades 7-12 The 45-minute Peak Performance workout will focus on: Muscular strength and endurance Cardiovascular conditioning Speed, agility, power, flexibility Plyometrics Core Injury prevention Mental toughness Prepare for success and “peak performance” with strength and conditioning workouts explicitly geared for female athletes. When you put in the work and train like an athlete, you will reap the benefits during your upcoming season! Each participant must bring a set of dumbbells between 8 - 12 pounds to each class based on what they are comfortable using, a yoga mat, and a water bottle. DHS Tennis Courts (TAC Court #6 when needed due to weather) Program Prerequisites: Participants must have the ability to lift 8 to 12-pound weights, run, jump, balance on one foot, and independently carry out exercises with verbal instruction.

  • Sandlot T-Ball

    > ages 3 - 5 The Delano Sandlot T-Ball program aims to develop participants’ throwing, catching, hitting, and base-running abilities while learning to be a part of a team. Coaches will use the first twenty minutes of each session to practice the previously mentioned skills, while teams will use the second half of the session to play a game, putting together all of the skills that players practiced. All players will hit off a tee for our games, all players will get to bat each half inning, and the batting teams will switch after the last batter has hit. Participants will be grouped by age. 3-year-olds will be grouped together, 4-year-olds will be grouped together, and 5-year-olds will be grouped together. You may make special requests for your child to be with another child at the time of registration, but not all special requests will be honored due to the need to balance teams. Community Education will provide most equipment, but all participants must bring a baseball glove. Participants are strongly recommended to provide their own batting helmet, but helmets will be provided if they do not have one. **Parent volunteers are needed for this program. Please indicate if you are willing to volunteer to help coach when you register your child. We plan to have a volunteer coach’s meeting before the start of the season. Community Education will email the time and location of the meeting to the coaches. **Please register by May 23 to be included in the first shirt order to be placed on May 24. Any registration received after May 23 will receive a shirt when the second order is placed on June 11.     Ski & Snowboard Club

    Registration is currently full. Grades 4-12 (experienced 4th graders only) Join the fun during this six-week-long ski and snowboard program at Powder Ridge in Kimball. Important information: If you purchase a ski or snowboard rental package through this program, it will be a "seasonal" rental. Any student who purchases the rental package through the Ski & Snowboard Club will receive free rentals at Powder Ridge for the entire season, including days that are not part of the Ski & Snowboard Club Program. All participants will receive a Bonus Voucher on the sixth visit. The vouchers are a one-time use for $9 lift tickets and $9 rentals and are good for up to four people any day after 3:30 pm through the end of the season. Gather your family and friends and hit the slopes! Cancellations due to inclement weather will be announced to students at Delano Public Schools. Delano Community Education will also send out communications via email to registered participants. Lessons: Lessons are group style for beginners only and offered on the first two ski club trips. Lessons begin at 4PM, 5PM and 6PM. Please meet ski school staff by the trail map at start times. Participants must be 10 years of age or older to partake in the ski club lessons. Register early, limited to the first 55 participants. Powder Ridge asks that we limit registrations to the first two weeks of the program, with additional students starting no later than the program's second week.     > entering grades 3 - 7 Join us for an exhilarating three-day youth football camp designed to infuse excitement into the game while imparting essential football skills to your budding athlete. The camp will include training in offensive, defensive, and specialty skills, including kicking and punting, that is geared toward preparing participants for the upcoming fall season. Additional emphasis will be placed on teamwork and learning to play multiple positions on the football field. Athletes should wear athletic clothing and shoes and bring a water bottle daily.     Delano Football Players Entering Grades 9-12 (Fall of 2024) The summer football practices will focus on the fundamentals and skills for playing tackle football for players entering grades 9-12. Some of the practices will be "padded" (helmets and shoulder pads and or full pads). The Delano High School Football Coaches will lead these practices and install the offense, defense, and special teams for the upcoming season. Coach Peterson will share the summer calendar with the dates & times of all football activities with participating families.   • Tennis Clinic

    > grades 1 - 6 This camp will focus on proper grips, footwork, rallying, and tennis’ basic strokes, including the forehand, backhand, volley, and serves. We will also be learning and playing many tennis games throughout this process. Participants will need to bring a tennis racquet. The clinic will be held outside, so please dress appropriately, and bring sunscreen and a water bottle. Space is limited, so register early. Program Note: participants will be grouped by ability after the first session. Participants will learn & compete with similar-aged peers and play 7-on-7 style games. Campers will receive a Delano Football t-shirt, wristband, and a poster signed by varsity players. Each Tuesday night, participants will be formed into teams to play a variety of volleyball games. Participating in the Tuesday Night Volleyball Games program is your opportunity to apply what you learn on Monday and Wednesday mornings in a more competitive manner. **Participants must attend Delano Public Schools or be district residents, attend the Monday/Wednesday Skills program to participate and have organized volleyball experience (JOs or HS teams) where they understand a 5-1 or 6-2 offense.     This class is for 4 and 5-year-olds that are not yet in Kindergarten. In this class, your child will learn the basics of gymnastics while improving their coordination and flexibility.
