    > boys & girls, ages 11 - 18 Girls and boys ages 11+ will learn the skills and information necessary for caring for infants and children in this American Health & Safety Institute-accredited program. The Babysitting Training program will teach participants how to be responsible, prepare for emergencies, take care of an infant/child, respond to an unconscious victim, CPR, choking management, and basic first aid. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a Babysitting Safety Training certification card. Please bring a pen, paper, snack, and beverage! Trained instructors will teach students how to program their own video games using an engaging program called Kodu.     AeroCode Academy > entering grades 3 - 9 AeroCode Academy is the most exciting way for students to learn how to program! Using block-based programming tools to command drones, students will sharpen their skills and take to the skies. By starting with guided tutorials, students of all skill levels will find success before implementing their own custom programs. Teams of students will battle their drones in fun and exciting challenges that will teach them valuable 21st-century programming skills, along with teamwork and collaboration.     > boys & girls, ages 11+ This American Safety & Health Institute training program is designed to engage and inform aspiring babysitters. It gives 11 - 14-year-old boys and girls everything they need to know, from getting started to dealing with parents and children to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips.   • Drivers Education: 30-hour Classroom Instruction

    Thirty hours of classroom instruction are required before a student is eligible for behind-the-wheel instruction. Students should be 14 years old in order to take classroom instruction. After completion of the classroom instruction, students may register with Westonka Driving School or another school of their choice for behind the wheel instruction. There is an additional cost for behind the wheel. When students register for behind the wheel, they will receive a blue card, which will enable them to go and take the written permit test at state exam stations.     > Students entering grades 6-9 (2023-2024 school year) Math-by-Mail is expanding its options to do math! How exciting! We continue to serve upper elementary through 9th grade. Not only are we offering our predetermined set of 8 packets, but we will also offer an ala carte menu! Our added approach allows for individual choice regarding the skills and concepts students and parents can request to build math confidence. It's still an 8-week course with a self-paced approach! Student-completed packets should be mailed (USPS) to Math-by-Mail. We will then provide feedback and return corrected packets to students via USPS. As always, Math-by-Mail aims to provide rich content to maintain mathematical understanding! All packets are due back by August 9th to provide timely feedback before the 2024 school year begins.     >Grades 7 - 12 Be a part of the fastest-growing extracurricular activity in Minnesota! Delano Orange Crush Robotics is looking for students grades 7-12 with a passion for engineering, building, programming, business, or marketing to be a part of our championship team. While the team meets year-round, the build and competition season takes place from January to April. A more serious time commitment, including some travel to various competitions, is required of team members during this part of the season.     >entering grades 5 & Up Pottery Wheel Camp is an introduction to the electric pottery wheel! Give it a spin! Learn the basic skills of centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing. During this six-day camp, first-time potters will get lots and lots of good practice. A few of your best creations will be kept and fired in the kiln. Once fired, pieces will be glazed, making them food-safe. We are sure to make a mess. Please come dressed appropriately and bring a full-sized towel that can get dirty.
