In this camp, students may construct a catapult, ninja star, tank, battle axe, crossbow, and more! Students will be working in pairs. Please bring lunch and a drink.     Grades 2-6 Join Science Explorers as we investigate a wizard’s laboratory. You will become an apprentice as you learn the science behind the magic. Explore the secret world of alchemy as you create scientific potions, harness electricity to build your own wand, and more in this fun, hands-on imaginative class. Science Explorers Staff Program Prerequisites:Basic Skills: deductive skills, able to follow verbal directions, ability to work on their own, large motor skills, fine motor skills, ability to build simple projects on their own, willingness to clean up after experiments.

    > entering grades 2 - 5 This course will give you hands-on experience developing your game using Scratch 3, a visual coding platform. Students will learn to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimensional, arcade-style Super Mario Bros.-themed game. The first part of the class will be instructor-led. With any remaining time, students will have the opportunity to customize their games. Bring a USB drive to save your games. Please bring lunch and a drink.   • YEL Destination Mars: Rocketry Course

    > students entering grades 2 - 5 Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts, including propulsion, thrust, lift, drag, and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars, and life on Mars. Do you have the right stuff?
