  • Gale Woods Farm Camp

    > entering grades 1 - 3 Join the farmers at Gale Woods Farm for four full days of exciting farm-focused activities. Enjoy animal care, harvesting and cooking with garden produce, making crafts, and assisting with farm projects. Each group of students is led by a Gale Woods Farm Educator and chaperoned by a Community Education staff member. Please bring a bag lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray each day. **Community Education is looking for three chaperones to supervise our groups at Gale Woods during this camp. The chaperones will be paid for their time during the camp. We need one adult and two high school students (10th-grade or older).     > entering grades 4 - 6 (Please note the price difference from the misprint in the brochure, this course is $155) Work alongside the Gale Woods farmers to learn about caring for livestock and tending the garden. Explore the natural farm setting while helping with daily chores, making fresh farm snacks, and a variety of hands-on activities. The Farm Camp in Action group is led by a Gale Woods Farm Educator and chaperoned by a Community Education staff member.   • Summertime in the Parks

    >For children entering grades 1-6 If you enroll more than one child in the same week, please select the "Additional Child" for any additional children of the same family. Summertime in the Parks is an opportunity for kids to get outside, participate in activities, and burn off some surplus energy. Experience what Delano parks and playgrounds have to offer! Participants should bring the following items: sunscreen, bug repellent, water, and a snack. These will not be provided. We will take a snack/water/*bathroom break every day at 2:00 pm. (*Not all locations have bathrooms) Participants must bring a water bottle, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, bug spray, and a snack to class each day. These items should be clearly labeled with their name. Sign up for one week or both!! Pre-registration required. Registration deadlines for each week are listed below. Week 1: July 15th - July 18th (Registration deadline: Wednesday, July 3rd) Athletics/Outdoor Yard Games Week - Barb King Park We will play various team-style games such as kickball, whiffleball, and football. We will also play yard games throughout the week, such as capture the flag, freeze tag, and red light green light. Week 2: July 22nd - July 25th (Registration deadline: Wednesday, July 10th) Water Week - Central Park We will be cooling down from the hot summer heat with activities that include a Slip n’ Slide, the Splash Pad, water balloons, and water guns. Participants are encouraged to bring their water guns and toys. (Meet at Big Rock Park each day.)
