  • 2024 Cross Country/Track Sessions

    All 7-12 grade athletes are invited to attend these weekly practices at Tiger Stadium with the varsity Cross Country and Track & Field coaching staff. On Tuesdays, athletes will be in groups for sprinting, hurdling, distance running, or throwing. Thursday sessions will be distance running only. No experience is necessary. All interested cross-country or track-and-field athletes are welcome to attend! Varsity Cross Country/Track & Field Coaches Program Prerequisites: Participants must be able to run, jump, shuffle, and skip unassisted, follow a series of directions, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, and work as a team with their peers. Participants must also have a basic understanding of track and field and cross-country sports.
  • Adult / High School Summer Tennis Drills

    Adult / High School Summer Tennis Drills > adults with experience & JV/Varsity High School players The Summer Tennis Drills program will consist of a variety of doubles, singles, and team games that are guaranteed to give you a good workout. Jake Olson Program Prerequisites: Participants must be able to follow a series of directions, demonstrate hand-eye coordination to hold and throw a tennis ball, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, run, shuffle side-to-side, and hold and swing a tennis racket. Players should be able to sustain a rally of 10+ shots from the baseline.
  • Advanced/Masters Gymnastics

    Advanced: Gymnasts will learn handsprings, squat-ons, flatbacks, and gain confidence on high beams. Advanced classes are two-hour classes. Gymnasts at this level are recommended to register for 2 - 3 classes per week. Masters: We will advance your gymnastics skills even further. Masters participants will be taught tumbling, kips, and handsprings. Masters classes are two-hour classes. Gymnasts at this level are recommended to register for 2-3 classes per week. Bus information - Please use this information. Bus Transportation for Spring Session #1 and Spring Session #2Your child can ride their regular bus from the Elementary or Intermediate Schools to the High School for Spring Sessions #1 and #2 (3:15 pm classes only). Your child will need to provide the driver a note each day they attend gymnastics to get off their bus at the High School. The note is for your child’s safety and to ensure they go to gymnastics. (Notes for the drivers will be emailed to registered participants with a valid email address on file with Community Education the Friday before classes start).Community Education will have gymnastics staff by door #11 to meet the students and bring them into the gym. More detailed information about this process will be sent out to registered participants one week before the start of the session. Participants must have a valid email address on file with Community Education to receive this information. **If your child misses the class they are registered for; we cannot allow them to make up that missed class by attending another session.**

  • Beginners Gymnastics

    The Beginners class is for students in Kindergarten or a higher grade during the 2023-24 school year. Gymnasts will learn the basics of gymnastics. Cartwheels, pullovers, board approaches, and beam basics will be taught. The Beginners class is one hour long. It is recommended that gymnasts at this level register for one class per week.
  • Boys Tennis for Grades 6-9

    > Boys entering grades 6-9 Are you ready to take your tennis game to the next level? This six-week program is geared toward players with some experience and looking to improve their game. Through drills, games, and match scenarios, players will work to refine their strokes and develop a deeper understanding of strategy & court positioning. Timothy Arnold Program Prerequisites: Participants must be able to follow a series of directions, demonstrate hand-eye coordination to hold and throw a tennis ball, verbally communicate with peers and coaches, run, shuffle side-to-side, and hold and swing a tennis racket.
  • Competition Cheer Team

    Information Meeting: April 15, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, at the Delano High School in the Auditorium. Competition Cheer is a competitive twist on the classic sport of cheerleading. Athletes will learn a combination of skills and work together to build a two-and-a-half-minute routine. Participants will put in the work to perfect the routine and develop skills during practice. They will perform their routine at a variety of local competitions in Minnesota. No experience is required. Uniforms and props will be provided. Athletes will need to buy a team warm up, shoes, spandex, socks and a bow. Participants will be taught all stunt, jump, cheer, and dance skills needed to become successful competitive cheerleaders. Practices will be two days a week during the season. We expect to compete in five to six-weekend competitions November through January. The Competition Cheer Team is open to boys and girls in grades 7-12. Athletes do not need to attend Delano Schools but must be willing to commute to practice and represent Delano at competitions. All participants will need to pay an additional camp fee, up to $150. The final additional camp fee will be determined after registration closes. Mandatory Camp Dates: August 25th, September 21st, and September 22nd.     > girls, grades 5 & 6 Dance Team Prep is a great opportunity that gives young athletes the chance to prepare to be a member of the Delano Tiger Dance Team. During this program, athletes will work with the winter competitive season coaches! Through this experience, participants will have a better understanding of what the dance team has to offer. Participants can expect to refine existing skills while also learning new skills.     Delano High School Boys Summer Soccer Camp > boys entering grades 7-12 (DHS Boys Soccer Players) The Delano Boys Summer Soccer Camp is designed to help boys entering grades 7-12 prepare for the upcoming high school season and tryouts. The camp will focus on improving technical ability in high-repetition, high-intensity settings that will challenge the players to perform effectively.   • Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football

    > entering grades 1 - 4 (Fall of 2024) Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football program aims to teach students in grades 1 - 4 about the game of football in a fun and encouraging environment to develop their interest in the sport. The Delano Junior Tigers Flag Football program seeks parent volunteers to coach their child’s team. Parent volunteers are needed for a successful program. We are asking parents to consider volunteering, no matter their background in the sport of football. Without enough volunteers, participation in the program may be limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.     Delano Middle School Tennis League > ages 10 - 14 The Delano Middle School Tennis League will allow newer or experienced players to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches against other players. Athletes will play sets against a variety of opponents. Match locations will rotate between Delano and area tennis courts.   • Delano Tigers 5th & 6th Grade Tackle Football

    Delano Tigers 5th & 6th-Grade Tackle Football will be starting the week of August 14 this year to give our players more time to develop before playing competitive games. The Delano Tigers 5th & 6th-Grade Tackle Football program aims to teach fifth and sixth-grade students to have fun playing football, develop an interest in the sport, and learn the fundamentals of the game. Football provides a forum for children to develop respect for themselves and others, build self-esteem, develop physical skills, and experience a metaphoric environment that teaches life lessons and skills. Practices: The schedule will be determined by your athlete’s head coach. (Typically during the week from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.) Games:League playdates start September 7 and can go through October 12. Game times and locations will vary each week. The league schedule will be distributed at the end of August once finalized. Pants ordered through Community Education will be black and have the pads integrated into them. Integrated pads mean you no longer have to take the pads out of the pants to wash them or deal with broken snaps. Players can use the football pants for both the 5th and 6th-grade seasons. We will be placing one bulk order for the pants through a vendor. You must contact the vendor directly if there are any issues with the pants. Please contact Community Education for the vendor’s information if you have any problems with the pants. We understand this may require additional planning for families. To help make equipment acquisition easier, Community Education is partnering with local vendors to offer participants options for purchasing or renting helmets and shoulder pads. More information on these options, including vendor details and pricing, will be available before the 2025 season's registration opens. This clinic is an exciting way for our younger generation to connect with the dance team and the community. The Fall Kids Dance Clinic has quickly become a favorite for the dance team and the younger dancers. You will get to showcase your fun routine and your spunky dance moves on the football field. It’s a lively, fun environment, so be sure to register early to secure your spot! During the first half-hour each day, we will work on flag football skills through various drills and fun games. For the last hour of each day, the coaches will split the group into teams, and we will play a game using the same format taught in the fall program.
